2024 NY Rangers draft recap

The New York Rangers made 4 selections in the 2024 NHL Draft, with picks in the first, fourth, fifth, and sixth rounds. All in all, the Rangers did a pretty good job with their picks, not reaching for many and getting good value with their picks. We will have a detailed 2024 NY Rangers draft recap in the coming days, but for now, here’s a quick summary.

  • Round 1, Pick 30: Defenseman EJ Emery – solid defenseman, mobile, good puck mover, good reads in all three zones.
  • Round 4, Pick 119: Center Raoul Boilard – The Rangers traded up to land Boilard, who was a sneaky good value pick. Some had him projected to go as high as the second round. He’s projected to be a strong middle-six center with an emphasis on defensive play.
  • Round 5, Pick 159: LW Nathan Aspinall – Another big forward at 6’6, Aspinall needs to fill out, but he moves very well and is another pick in the mold of Matt Rempe, Adam Edstrom, and Dylan Roobroeck.
  • Round 6, Pick 191: LW Rico Gredig – Young Swiss forward with good showings on the international stage and in the top Swiss league.
