This panel builds on Ashley’s “Accessibility in the Audition & Rehearsal Room” workshop, addressing the need to create more equitable practices where disabled artists can have an opportunity to thrive in the field. While we strive for inclusivity, significant barriers remainand these folks are here to talk about it!

Our panel of disabled artists will share their experiences and fresh perspectives on:

  • Creating accessible and equitable audition, rehearsal, and performance spaces
  • Proactive steps theater organizations can take to ensure full inclusion
  • Successes and ongoing tensions in pursuit of true equity

Join us to explore actionable solutions for breaking down barriers and transforming theater practices. Whether you attended the previous workshop, or are new to the conversation, this discussion aims to offer deeper insights for all as we work towards lasting equity in the theater community.

Anyone working in NYC theater knows that space is a precious resource, and how organizations manage and share it can significantly impact their futures, and the work of the artists they serve. Join us for an enlightening discussion that delves into the strategic decisions behind space management in our field. Hear from a diverse group of leaders who have decided to build, share, or reimagine their spaces, and learn about how their decisions impact larger resource sharing within the Off and Off-Off Broadway communities. The conversation will explore practical considerations and creative possibilities for those who manage space and for organizations and artists seeking to rent venues for their work.
