Aston Villa, Adidas Announce Kit Deal Starting in 2024-25 Season – SportsLogos.Net News

After dealing with a plethora of quality issues over the past two years, English Premier League side have officially switched kit suppliers, ditching Castore for German giant Adidas.

The club announced the deal on Monday, May 20, and it will take effect for the 2024-25 season. This is the first time Aston Villa has been outfitted by Adidas, and the deal comes at an opportune time as Villa has secured a place in the UEFA Champions League for the first time with a fourth-place finish in the Premier League in 2023-24.

As one of the most iconic football clubs in England, Aston Villa prides itself on excellence and the relentless pursuit of greatness both on and off the pitch. The club’s rich heritage, combined with its passionate fanbase and unwavering commitment to success point firmly to a bright future for this new partnership with adidas.

Of note, Monday’s announcement used a new Aston Villa crest that matches one that was leaked in January 2024. It features a yellow lion rampant on a light blue shield with claret outlines and “ASTON VILLA” spelled out in claret at the bottom. The year of the club’s founding, 1874, and a star marking Villa’s European Cup title in 1982 are white.

The announcement was expected for some time, as advertisements and murals with an Adidas logo and Villa’s motto “PREPARED” had been popping up around Birmingham for a couple of weeks beforehand.

Aston Villa have had a number of quality issues over their two seasons with Castore, including jerseys tearing, badges falling off and shirts absorbing too much water and sweat during games, weighing players down.

“We believe we should be judged by the company we keep and so we are delighted to announce our partnership with adidas, one of the biggest and best sports brands in the world. This partnership represents an exciting new chapter for Aston Villa Football Club as we look to position ourselves consistently amongst the top football clubs globally,” said Chris Heck, Aston Villa’s president of business operations.

“The announcement of the partnership with adidas, the biggest technical partnership in the Club’s history, follows the announcement of our new front-of-shirt partner, Betano, a couple of weeks ago and marks another milestone on the journey to grow our business on the global stage. We cannot wait to show the fans the new home shirt for the upcoming season, a season which will see UEFA Champions League football at Villa Park for the first time in the Club’s history. Up the Villa!”

The kit supplier change follows Villa’s announcement in April of sports betting company Betano as their new front-of-shirt sponsor starting in 2024-25. This announcement came in spite of the Premier League’s ban on betting firms as front-of-shirt sponsors that will take effect at the end of the 2025-26 season.
