The Rangers have returned defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack. Ruhwedel had played in 4 straight games since K’Andre Miller’s injury, his longest stretch of consecutive games this season. Ruhwedel picked up an assist against Carolina, but that was it, while averaging 14 minutes a night on the third pair. The Rangers won just once in those four games, but that’s far from Ruhwedel’s fault.
Ruhwedel returning to Hartford likely means Miller is ready to return from IR on Friday when the Rangers return to action against in Tampa. The Rangers are better on paper than their play on the ice, which is wildly frustrating, and though Miller has been a part of the problem, he’s still better than Ruhwedel.
Hopefully this team turns it around soon.
