Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold retail unit gets unboxed, compared to the original Pixel Fold

While the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold isn’t shipping yet, one lucky person has already gotten their hands on an Obsidian color unit, and has thankfully unboxed it over on Reddit for the world to see.

The crease out of the box seems improved significantly compared to the original Pixel Fold‘s, while still being very present. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also ships unfolded inside the box, unlike its predecessor which was folded.

Speaking of which, the same Reddit user has also posted a comprehensive photo shoot comparing the new Google foldable smartphone to the old Google foldable smartphone, side by side, next to each other. The new device’s different aspect ratio is very obvious, as is its larger size.

This change also makes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold look much more like a generic foldable smartphone, and less unique than its predecessor. But this should come with a positive side, of apps having less issues on the folding screen.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold should become available in early September.
