Have a Relaxing Weekend. | Cup of Jo

What are you up to this weekend? Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate! The boys and I invited friends over for brunch tomorrow, and we’ve been debating the best bagel orders. I’m a sesame-with-cream-cheese-and-tomato girl for life. You? Hope you have a good one, and here are a few links from around the web…

The #1 thing I look for in a romantic partner, and my thoughts on Lindy West’s polyamorous marriage.

Banana Republic is offering 40% off full-priced purchases (exclusions apply). How beautiful is this dress? Also into their travel packing edit.

Broccoli melts.

How gorgeous is comedian Bridget Everett’s upstate New York home? (Architectural Digest)

“It’s my third wedding anniversary, and I have some regrets.”

President Obama shares letters he received from people about growing up Muslim-American.

I’ve been glued to Love Is Blind Sweden. So fun/fascinating to watch other countries’ versions.

I saw a woman wearing these shoes with jeans yesterday, and they looked very cool. Also, how good are these Reformation dupes? (DSW is offering 25% off a bunch of styles right now with code SPRINGREADY.)

Eight spring rituals, including “indulge in a shower orange.”

How randomly cool is this city shaped like a person?

This newspaper title made me laugh.

Plus, three reader comments:

Says Christina on the only cough remedy that worked: “My sister and brother-in-law gave my three-year-old niece a teaspoon of honey before bed for a week, to help her sleep when she had a persistent cough. For months after the cough cleared up, right after brushing her teeth, she’d stop on her way to bed, look you in the eye, and say like clockwork, ‘I been coughin’ a lot.’ Now my husband and I will occasionally look each other in the eye and say ‘I been coughin’ a lot.’”

Says Kim on five things that surprised me about having a third child: “My girl is an only child (late-in-life mom here), and she goes through stages of wishing for siblings. BUT she has a gaggle of friends who all fit in my car, and our house is always noisy. Then, at the end of the day, we get her all to ourselves, and she gets us all to herself. At this point, I’m just glad there are still places in this country where we actually HAVE the choice of how many kids we have. Let’s make sure we protect it.”

Says Mette on eight readers share the recipes they know by heart: “Hetty Lui McKinnon’s Soy Sauce Noodles with Cabbage and Fried Eggs! It’s pure comfort food, while also being nourishing — I make it whenever I’m cooking for myself, so my husband now refers to them as ‘Home Alone Noodles.’”
