Jurassic World Rebirth dares to ask: What if, instead of opening another theme park filled with live dinosaurs, we tried to get their DNA for a lot of money? Oh, still feels icky? Yeah, we thought so, too. In the standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion, Rebirth follows Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey as they attempt to extract DNA from dinosaurs, who are forced to live around the equator due to climate change, for an insane amount of cash. But is this new journey of Jurassic Park bringing in the dough? Sort of. Predicted for the five-day holiday weekend, Rebirth is estimated to earn around $137 million over fourth of July and $81 over the standard 3 day box office.
Compared to the rest of the dino flicks, Rebirth’s opening sits directly between the original films (the highest being Jurassic Park 2 with $72 million) and the Jurassic World movies with Chris Pratt (the lowest being Domination at $145 million). Even if we just take the three day total, since the other films in the franchise were not released on holiday weekends, it would still put Rebirth in the same spot in the ranking.
