Lizzy Caplan will be heading to Broadway in The Morning Show universe. She’ll play Gwen, a “passionate and uncompromising Broadway theater director,” per Deadline. There’s no word yet on how long her character arc will be. She’ll be joining Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, and Sean Hayes as new cast members for the upcoming fifth season. Caplan has been building up a pretty good momentum in television in the past few years, starring in Fleishman Is In Trouble, Fatal Attraction, and Zero Day. It’s basically masterful training to jump into the insane world of TMS. While we do not know what political news will plague Alex and Bradley this year, we can make an educated guess, based on the past year, that there will probably be a storyline about gas prices and/or the price of eggs. Or in a perfect world, some deep dive into their own version of the Alix Earle vs Alex Cooper drama.
