The Miami Hurricanes will honor current and former members of the United States military by wearing camouflage alternate uniforms against Stanford on Oct. 25.
The uniforms, which are part of adidas’ “Honor and Support” collection, have a marine camouflage (MARPAT) pattern for the base of the jerseys, as well as stenciled numbers and an American flag in the advancing position on the right sleeve.
The jerseys are complete with Miami’s primary logo on the collar and “Hurricanes” on the contrasting nameplate, which was also featured on Washington’s hexagonal digital camouflage uniforms that will be worn against Purdue on Nov. 15.
It’s unclear if Miami plans to wear the jerseys with its standard white helmets or if the program will introduce a matching lid and pants design, a la its all-black Military Appreciation uniforms that were worn in a 27-21 win over Virginia in 2015.
Unlike the Huskies’ uniforms, which are rendered in team colors with gold helmets, purple jerseys and gold pants, the Hurricanes’ look is devoid of orange, which leads us to believe they won’t simply wear their usual helmets and pants.
