New Era announced on Friday it will now provide official on-field caps to three adidas-sponsored college baseball programs, including the Arizona State Sun Devils, Miami Hurricanes and Texas A&M Aggies.
“By combining adidas’ high-performance apparel expertise and New Era’s iconic cap silhouettes, this partnership will elevate the player’s on-field experience,” New Era general manager Steve Gallo said in a statement.
“It’s setting new standards for performance, fan engagement and sports culture, lifting the game of college baseball both on and off the field.”
New Era created new home, away and alternate hats for all three programs, with the Sun Devils’ caps featuring their interlocking “AS” logo on the front, the Hurricanes’ designs including their Old English “M” and the Aggies hats using their beveled “ATM” mark.
Just like Major League Baseball teams have since the 2016 Postseason, the three schools will have the New Era flag on the side of their caps, which all come in the iconic 59FIFTY silhouette. There’s also team-specific marks on the back.
“New Era’s deep roots in baseball made this partnership a natural fit,” adidas president John Miller said. “We’re linking two iconic brands in sport and creating something special for NCAA baseball.”
In addition to the on-field caps, New Era also plans to sell fan-specific designs throughout the spring that will feature both brands’ iconic marks with New Era’s flag on the side and adidas’ three stripes on the back.
