New USL Club in Boise, Idaho, Unveils Name and Crest – SportsLogos.Net News

The state of Idaho’s first professional soccer club now has a name and a crest for fans to rally around.

The club’s ownership unveiled its identity at an event on Friday, June 27. It will be known as Athletic Club Boise as it prepares to field a men’s team in USL League One and a women’s team in the USL Super League.

The club’s crest was designed in collaboration with Boise-based creative firm Against and features a white peregrine falcon combined with a lightning bolt streaking across a dark grey shield with green outlines. “A symbol of precision and power, [the peregrine falcon] honors Boise’s global role in raptor conservation through the World Center for Birds of Prey and The Peregrine Fund,” the club says on its website. “Its presence evokes velocity, vision, and the instinct to strike with clarity.” The falcon’s eye is the only purple element in the crest.

The top of the badge forms a mountain peak, “referencing Idaho’s dramatic elevation and unyielding terrain,” while the V shape at the bottom is a nod to the Treasure Valley and “signifies unity and rooted identity, grounding the club to its home.”

At the top of the shield, “ATHLETIC CLUB” is written out in a smaller, brighter green font above “BOISE” in white. The letterforms in “BOISE” echo “the enduring spirit of Boise’s Basque community,” according to the club. “Rooted in ancient Iberian design traditions, it embodies resilience, cultural pride, and the distinctive voice of a people who crossed continents yet remained unmistakably themselves.”

The green lines to the left of the falcon represent agricultural fields across Idaho, while on the right is Idaho’s state gem, the star garnet. “Formed under geological pressure over millennia, it symbolizes inner strength, mystery, and the singular beauty that emerges through time and transformation.”

Both the men’s and women’s teams will play their home games at a new soccer-specific stadium being built as part of a redevelopment of the Expo Idaho grounds in Ada County. The men’s team is planning to join USL League One in spring 2026, while the women’s team is slated to join the USL Super League for its 2027-28 season.
