The Rangers can’t get out of their own way. Despite a generally solid performance against Seattle, where they put up 5 goals, they still found a way to lose due to horrible defensive miscues and poor goaltending. The goaltending can be explained away as a one-off from a strong backup goalie that wasn’t expecting to play that day, but the defense issues can’t be explained away, especially not after they sent Jacob Trouba to Anaheim.
The easy part of the Rangers schedule is coming to a close, and if the Rangers continue to play like this, the better teams will steamroll them and more heads will roll. We know more moves are coming, but this season is on the brink of being unsalvageable.
