The Rangers are back “in action” tonight against the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers. I’m unsure if “action” is what I’d say the Rangers are doing lately. It’s more like physically being there but that’s about it? They sure can’t get out of their own way. It’s funny, they have about 60% of it figured out, but it’s the 40% that makes them lose 11-2 over two games.
Florida is being called the team that broke them, and I think that’s hyperbole. Remember, this same group was a puck bounce away from a 3-1 series lead coming back to MSG. I think their egos broke them, not the Panthers. Maybe closing out 2024 against the last team they actually played hard against is a good thing?
Perhaps it’s poetic?
