The Rangers yet again find themselves in a must win situation, but not because of how they’ve been playing. They’ve been pretty solid of late, and even the loss to Edmonton was what we would have called a good loss in October. Instead, Montreal got hot and is 7-1-2 in their last 10 games. The Rangers are one point up but Montreal has 2 games in hand. It’s a must win for the Blueshirts to simply fend off Montreal at this point.
Calgary is a very aggressive team that will pressure the Rangers defensemen. They looked good against Edmonton, and this will be another test for the revamped blue line. It will also be a good litmus test for Zac Jones to see how he responds to being under pressure constantly.
