OHL’s Flint Firebirds Mark 10th Anniversary With Orange Third Jerseys – SportsLogos.Net News

Orange is the new blue for the Ontario Hockey League’s Flint Firebirds as they mark their 10th anniversary this season.

The Michigan-based team — one of three United States clubs in the 20-team major junior hockey league — unveiled new orange third jerseys on Wednesday, October 2, as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations. They’ll wear them on the ice for the first time on Saturday, October 5, when they host the Sarnia Sting.

The base of the jerseys is orange, which has until now been strictly an accent color for the Firebirds. Three stripes — one navy blue stripe between two white stripes with gaps in between — run around each sleeve and the waist. The shoulders are navy blue with a white outline. All in all, it closely mimics the jersey that the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers wore at home from 2017 to 2022.

“FLINT” is written out diagonally across the front of the jersey in in navy blue letters with white outlines and drop shadows. The Firebirds’ primary logo appears on each shoulder. The collar is navy blue with white trim. Numbers on the sleeves and back are navy blue with white outlines, while names on the back are one-color navy.

The Firebirds’ 10th anniversary logo sits on the left chest. It consists of two hockey sticks crossed to form an X, with the Firebirds’ primary logo on top. A navy banner runs under the logo with “EST. 2015” written on it.

When the Firebirds debut the new duds on Saturday, the players won’t be the only ones wearing orange. The team is giving out orange T-shirts to the first 4,000 fans through the doors of the Dort Financial Center to create their first-ever “Orange Out” in the rink.

Puck drop between the Firebirds and the Sting is at 7 p.m. ET.
