One of My Favorite Mac Apps, Portal, Adds Beautiful New Feature With Update

One of my favorite desktop apps, Portal is made to bring an immersive window from nature to your machine. While you work the app combines sounds from real-life locations and adds in beautiful visuals to create an immersive experience. The results are simply beautiful.

Some of the portals include everywhere from Costa Rica to Iceland and other far-flung locations. The app even integrates with Hue and Nanoleaf smart lighting systems.

And the app has just been updated with the new Circadian Flow. The feature syncs Portal with the local time of day and will play portals that mirror the progression of light and ambience throughout the day. That helps align your internal clock to the natural tempo of today to support circadian health.

That’s especially great for long days indoors.

Other additions in the update include the ability to play an entire collection, play all of your favorite portals at a once, and audio normalization that will balance volume levels across portals.

Portal is a free download now on the App Store for the Mac, iPhone, and iPad. You can receive access to three portals that rotate monthly.

To unlock all of the app’s features, you’ll need a subscription. That’s $12.99 per month or $69.99 per year. There is also a lifetime unlock for $299.99
