According to multiple sources, the Orlando Magic will unveil new logos and uniforms this summer, marking the first significant update to their primary look since the 2008-09 season.
The sources indicated the redesign will effectively blend their original 1989-98 look – including pinstripes and classic trim on the jersey and shorts – with a modernized wordmark and number font.
The Magic attempted to do something similar with their current uniform design, but added thick side panels and curved pinstripes that became less prominent as Nike made some modifications when it took over the league contract in 2017-18.
Orlando revealed its current logo in 2010-11, coinciding with the opening of KIA Center (formerly known as Amway Center). It combines their current wordmark with their iconic ball and stars secondary logo that debuted in 2000-01.
The secondary logo is expected to remain a prominent part of the Magic’s identity, though that – and any associated marks – may be tweaked to better fit alongside the new modernized font.
It’s unclear when the Magic will reveal the new logos and uniforms, though it will likely be prior to the 2025 NBA Draft, which is set to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25-26.
