Pixel 9 Pro XL runs Geekebench, Reno 12 series goes global, Galaxy Watch Ultra leaks, Week 25 in review

While we’re still a long way from October, Google’s Pixel 9 Pro XL made an early appearance on Geekbench. The listing highlights the Tensor G4 chipset’s configuration – 1x 3.10GHz prime core, 3x 2.6GHz performance cores, and 4x 1.95GHz efficiency cores. It also comes with the Mali G715 GPU and 16GB of RAM.

It will pack 16GB of RAM alongside its Tensor G4.

Oppo announced the global versions of its Reno12 and Reno12 Pro. Both new phones are equipped with the Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, 6.7-inch curved AMOLEDs (FHD+ 120Hz), and 50MP main cams. The Pro adds another 50MP 2x telephoto cam and a mightier 50MP selfie cam and both phones get 5,000 mAh batteries with 80W wired charging.

The Pro model has a 50MP 2x camera on the back and a 50MP selfie camera with autofocus. Both phones are powered by the new Dimensity 7300-Energy

A phone with solid specs and looks to die for.

Moving on to Samsung rumors, all Galaxy S25 series phones are now expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset – directly contradicting earlier rumors which said the S25 models would feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos chips.

In related Samsung rumor news, S25 and S25+ are expected to feature the same camera hardware as their predecessors while the S25 Ultra is said to offer an improved 200MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 3x telephoto, and 50MP 5x telephoto shooters.

Samsung has went with an all-Snapdragon Galaxy S lineup only once until now.

This will be the fourth generation in a row with no camera upgrades.

The watch has a squircle body but a round display – and is that a digital crown? As for the Galaxy Ring, its case looks similar to Galaxy Buds charging cases.

We also got some new official-looking images for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra in dark gray and silver, showing a rectangular design with a round display and a digital crown element for controls. Galaxy Ring also made an appearance with its charging case.

Sony Xperia 1 VII is expected to bring larger 1/2.3-inch telephoto (70-200mm focal range) and ultrawide sensors with two-layer transistor pixel technology. Sony is reportedly looking to break up the vertical camera alignment seen on past Xperia 1 devices and separate the telephoto lens from the main and ultrawide cameras.

Sony may bring two-layer transistor pixel technology for all three cameras on the Xperia 1 VII.

We have both the Glossy White and the Neon Green version.

The 4G mid-ranger got mixed results.
