The Redmi Note 15 series was announced in China yesterday, and the devices are expected to make their way to global markets with some changes as they usually do. According to a firmware dive, the global Redmi Note 15 Pro+ will omit the 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom.
This would be a similar development to last year’s global Redmi Note 14 Pro+ which launched with a 200MP main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro cam. According to the new report, the global Note 15 Pro+ will feature a dual camera setup with a wide and ultrawide lens and no macro shooter.
The global Note 15 Pro+ is also reportedly getting a smaller 6,500mAh battery compared to the 7,000mAh cell in the Chinese version. Charging speeds will see a bump up to 100W vs. the 90W speeds on the Chinese model.
It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will adopt a similar approach to last year’s Redmi Note 14 series, where the China and India variants shared the same specs, while the model sold in other markets featured less capable cameras and smaller batteries.
