Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 surfaced on the Samsung UAE site. It wasn’t entirely clear whether that was a mistake or an announcement. Now the little tablet is definitely official, as is its larger and more capable Tab A11+ sibling.
The Tab A11 is already available in some regions, in others it will be out in a few days (e.g. shipping from October 2 in Ireland). We have some bad news, though – the Tab A11+ “will be released by the end of 2025”. What’s taking so long? No clue.
Note that the above prices are for the Wi-Fi model. There is a 5G variant available in some places, e.g. in India it is ₹16,000 for 64GB and ₹21,000 for 128GB. The other important thing to note is that the 128GB model has double the RAM – 8GB instead of 4GB.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 and Tab A11+ have 8.7” and 11” LCDs, respectively, with 90Hz refresh rate. Both have 3.5mm jacks for wired headphones and support Dolby Atmos. The duo has expandable storage too – you can put microSD cards up to 2TB. Like other 11-series Galaxy tablets, these will receive OS updates and security updates for 7 years.
The larger slate has a larger battery, 7,040mAh, while the small A11 has a 5,400mAh battery. The A11+ supports 25W charging, but there is no word on the charging speed for the A11 – it’s probably 15W like on the old Tab A9 and A9+.
There’s a reason to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, it will support DeX mode. We don’t know whether it has a USB 3 port, though. Either way, it’s an important feature on a low-cost tablet, even if you can multitask only on the tablet’s own screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 and A11+ come in Silver and Gray
There are a few details still missing, e.g. the chipset inside the Tab A11+ (the Tab A11 uses a Helio G99). And, of course, the price of the plus model.
