Motorola is onto something with the Edge 50 Neo – the results from last week’s poll show that this could be a very popular device. It’s not for everyone and people had some legitimate criticisms of it, but Moto has indeed found an unoccupied niche in the current mobile market and could reap rewards for it.
The results are pretty clear – people are interested in the phone, but would like to see a detailed review before making a final decision. We’re working on it, so stay tuned.
Some commenters say that the Motorola Edge 50 Neo isn’t as small as they would have liked. And indeed, it’s not the smallest Android around. However, judging by the poll, only a few people would avoid the Neo because of its size.
Price is more of an issue, with the Neo launching at €500. Motorola phones get great discounts pretty consistently, so some patience may resolve this issue.
This leaves only one problem that can’t be fixed – people would have liked to see a better chipset than the Dimensity 7300. This is a fairly low-end chip, but an 8000 series or a Snapdragon chip might have blown the budget for the Neo.
We will see how the 7300 performs in our benchmarks along with the rest of the phone, including the highlight features like the LTPO display and 10MP 3x telephoto camera. Expect the full report soon.
