Eurovision, Europe’s annual songwriting competition, has wrapped up the 70th annual show for the 2026 season. After two days of performances, 25 finalists have left it all on the stage in Vienna, Austria, to be crowned the winner of Eurovision. Bulgaria’s song “Bangaranga” by Dara has won with 516 votes, after a three-year break from the competition. They surpassed the runner-up, Israel’s Noam Bettan’s song “Michelle,” who earned 343 votes after the audience votes.
After the initial jury votes were tallied, Dara was in shock but still managed to get a few jokes in. “Bangaranga means hello, how are you?” she laughed. But in a previous interview, she shared that the song is inspired by her battle with anxiety and gives hope that “everything is going to be all right.” Bulgaria won 312 votes from the audience as the crowd erupted in cheers and confetti.
