But the new app Dumb Phone fulfills the promise of its name and turn any modern iPhone into a minimalistic tool to help you accomplish daily tasks instead of doomscrolling.
The app turns your usual homescreen full of colorful icons, wallpapers, and distractions like notifications into a simple offering of text buttons.
You can select up to five apps to have quick access on your new homescreen. It’s also possible to choose from a Dark or Light theme, text font, size, positioning, color, and more.
To turn from work to leisure, you can also easily create multiple app launchers that you can quickly switch between. It’s also possible to use Shortcuts to automate the app.
There are a few steps to get setup, but the app does a great job of walking you through everything you need to do.
Dumb Phone is a free download now on the App Store. It come with a free, seven-day trial. After that, you will need a subscription to keep using the app. There are three options—$2.99 per month, $9.99 yearly, or $24.99 for the lifetime of the app.
