The Toronto Raptors will celebrate their 30th season in 2024-25 with a commemorative logo, which was unveiled on Tuesday morning.

The logo integrates the ball with claw marks from Toronto’s primary logo – which was introduced ahead of the 2015-16 season – with the No. 30, which is rendered in the team’s current font.

There’s also a red raptor biting the ball, an obvious nod to their 1995-98 alternate logo, as well as purple, black and gold strokes, which pay homage to the colors used by the franchise throughout its history.

“We’re always looking forward, working for our next championship, but years like this are a good time to reflect on our team’s history and the amazing things we’ve achieved together,” Raptors president and vice chairman Masai Ujiri said in a statement.

“Rookies of the year, our many All-Stars, an incredible All-Star weekend here in 2016 and, of course, our championship, which brought fans all across the country and the world together. Let’s celebrate these moments as we look to add new ones to the list in the decades to come.”

Toronto previously celebrated its inaugural season in 1995-96, 10th season in 2004-05, 15th season in 2009-10, 20th season in 2014-15 and 25th season in 2019-20 with commemorative logos, though the 10th season was wrongly referred to as an anniversary and the last one was rather unconventional.

In addition to the logo, the Raptors also announced on Tuesday they will honor 2024 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Vince Carter and his legendary performance in the 2000 NBA Slam Dunk Contest at some point this season.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see them wear a throwback uniform or have their 2024-25 City Edition uniform inspired by their 1999-2006 road design, which had purple on the front of the jersey and black on the back.

After all, the franchise released a logo in April that depicts the aforementioned red raptor performing Carter’s dunk while wearing his uniform. It also features the same gold trim as the new 30th season logo.
