Per Mollie Walker, we have a first look at a projected Rangers 2024 lineup, and it looks exactly how many of us projected. Reilly Smith joined Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider on the second line with the Artemi Panarin line remaining intact. Will Cuylle joined Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko on the third line.
These will obviously be tinkered with throughout camp, but it does appear this is where the coaching staff had everyone penciled in at the start of camp. I wouldn’t read too much into the K’Andre Miller-Jacob Trouba thing. It’s a likely fallback option should Braden Schneider falter as the 2RD.
I’m expecting Brennan Othmann and Brett Berard to get looks at 3LW or 4LW (Berard in particular for 4LW). On defense, I wouldn’t expect much rotation aside from the aforementioned Trouba/Schneider swap and potentially a Zac Jones/Chad Ruwedel swap.
Jonny Brodzinski has, at least for now, earned his spot in the Rangers 2024 lineup to start the season. He will need to be outplayed by someone to move him off the 12F/13F spot.
