Zara Larsson says she’s pulling out of her scheduled performance at the after-race concerts for the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in December. The “Midnight Sun” singer replied to an Instagram comment encouraging her to cancel the concert, stating she will “not be going to Abu Dhabi.” Vulture has reached out to Larsson’s team and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for comment and confirmation. The ticketing page still shows Larsson as a performer alongside Lewis Capaldi on December 3. Other performers during the race week include The Chainsmokers, Alex Warren, Imagine Dragons, and The Script.

Larsson further explained her decision in another reply, writing, “@reemmmaaaa I think about that a lot in my life as an artist… I wanna perform and spread joy and music for people in every country, because no single person is their government. I’ve met so many wonderful people from every corner of the world and I know this to be true in my heart. I love people and I love my fans soooo much. Maybe it came off as a impulsive response to a comment, but I have spent some time thinking about everything and decided that to not do the show aligns with me the most right now, for many different personal reasons beyond politics, as well as. Maybe I’ll delete both comments and do a better statement soon. I hope to sing with you in the beautiful future!”
